Welcome to the Blog!

In response to popular demand, here I am!

Over the course of the next year, I intend to bore all of you with book and film reviews, commentaries on PC gaming, discussions on politics and religion, and writing samples.

Wait a minute…writing samples?  That doesn’t exactly fit with the other things mentioned in the list.  While this blog may serve as a soapbox for my unorthodox views from time to time, the primary purpose is to put samples from the body of my work in front of any who care to read them.  These will include short stories, samples of longer works, and character sketches.  I will humbly accept any constructive criticism leveled at me.  I may not even hate you afterwards.

So a few ground rules to get us started.  While a modicum of profanity is acceptable within the guise of cathartic release, excessive use of it is not.  I also will not tolerate racism, flame wars, or spam in the comments sections.  The site will be vigorously moderated to see that these do not happen.  If you must attack, attack the ideas, not the people saying them.  Just be ready to defend your own ideas if you find that you are aggressive.

As a post script, I owe very special thanks to Brian Bentley for helping me get this site off the ground.

Enjoy the site!

Nice to meet you Peter. I look forward to reading more of your stuff as you post. As an aside, dreams should not just be side dishes. You’ll never get anything meaningful accomplished if you don’t fill your plate.

Indeed a full plate of french fries warms the soul.

I can’t write worth a darn but I’m looking forward to reading your ramblings.

I can spell ok though, and you’ve got a wandering “i” in reviews under Posts by Category to the right. :)

Hehe…thanks. Just fixed that as well as a spelling error on the about page.

Maybe I should say this is a beta site?

I know that Pete grew up on a varied diet of literature.. He was into Heinlein, Tolkein, Herbert and a variety of other SF writers at an early stage of his life.. I guess they had a profound impact on his personal paradigm.. I like his treatment of military operations as well. For those of you who haven’t had the opportunity, I would encourage you to check out writing by Leonard B. Scott. He is an Okie who made a career of the U.S. Army. Scott retired in 1994 as a full colonel after a twenty-seven-year career in the United States Army, with assignments throughout the world. A veteran of Vietnam, he earned the Silver Star and Purple Heart. Scott spins some of the most captivating military fiction I have ever read. Here are some of his works, all are well worth reading: Charlie Mike, The Last Run, The Hill, The Expendables, The Iron Men, and Forged in Honor. Scott is one of those authors that makes it difficult for me to put the book down. Blitz
