This is where being a chemist and an outdoorsman becomes pretty cool.
I’ve long been a proponent of being prepared for an emergency. I’m one of those nerdy people who keeps a survival kit in his truck that includes a fully stocked first aid kit, an epi pen, ampules of adrenaline and insulin (with disposable syringes), two flares, matches, a poncho, a full tool kit, a machete, blah, blah, blah. I’ve never had a way to purify water for my survival kit…until now. Don’t get me wrong–this isn’t an infomercial, but the chemist in me sees and understands the technology at work here. I’m cautiously excited to try one out. This would be just the thing to take on a back-packing trip into a remote area.
GK and I are eager to try one out.
