Speculate away. I’m clueless.
By the way, this post contains spoilers up to the end of season 4.0. Read at your own risk.
Two of my favorite possibilities:
1. Gaius Baltar. No matter what you think of Baltar as a character, he has been on a tremendous story arc throughout the series. I’m not a huge fan of his quasi-messianic mission in season four, but it would make sense for a religious prophet who found “god” (lowercase intentional) to be the final Cylon.
2. Kara “Starbuck” Thrace. Could it be that she really is a Cylon, which then explains her mysterious resurrection after the end of season three (which has NEVER been explained to my satisfaction)? Her vitriol towards Cylons and toward skinjobs in particular would make this an odd combination of irony and sweet, sweet justice.
Honorable mention goes to Felix Gaeta. The webisodes on the SciFi channel website thoroughly show his faggery, so it could be Gaeta rounds out the Cylon “cross-section” of humanity by being all inclusive. Seriously, though, recent events point to Gaeta having a strange position at the fulcrum of their search for Earth, which makes me wonder exactly how he fits in with everything else.

Well, Col. Tigh was also an uber-hater of Cylons and ‘tada!’ he’s one. Wouldn’t be unprecedented for Thrace to follow suit, albeit a slightly different path.
I watched the “10 things you need to know” about BSG lastnight on Sci-fi.
I recommend you guys watch it as well.. its been so long between seasons that I’d forgot quite a bit of the plot line.
I watched the 10 things about BSG as well. Now I am ready for this final season.
*** SPOILER ALERT ***
If you haven’t seen the first episode of this season’s BSG, go no further.
Watched the show this evening… definitely points to Thrace as a Cylon, but also Tigh’s wife. Both are female, blonds, fiercely independent, combative, insubordinate, and copulate with the husbands of other women at the drop of a hat. Could Tigh’s wife be a mature Cylon version of Thrace? That is that both are the same model, but at different ages… could explain why Tigh fought bitterly and constantly with both.
Noting that the 13th colony is supposedly Cylon, perhaps this colony’s populace were the fusion/hybrid of Cylon and Human that the other Cylons (from near the 12 colonies) had been trying to produce… with some purely mechanical Cylons mixed in. I could see the benefits that many would see, medically, for having and encouraging a hybrid race blending… longer lives, resistance to disease, etc… but high susceptibility to nuclear radiation.
All I know is they’ve added more questions that they’ll have to answer in the next 9 episodes….
Looks like Ellen Tigh is the final Cylon. How this will explain Kara Thrace’s existence I do not know yet.
For those who do not know yet, there is a prequel series coming out in 2010, called Caprica. It looks to be the backstory for the Adama family as well as the survival saga of one of the Cylon skinjobs known as #7 (or Daniel).
