The bios flash bombed; Asus’ “EZ Recovery” was epic fail. Tech support says that there are a small percentage of bios flash failures due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Unforeseen, as in, “I followed your fucking directions and it bombed anyway?”

Are you planing on going SLI? If not get a diffrent board.Sorry to hear about your problems I have to say Asus quality has gone down. I have had really goos luck with MSI,gigabyte, and Foxconn these last few builds here at work.
Yes; I’m planning on doing Crossfire. The only other board brands I have experience with are DFI or Gigabyte. Upon further research, this mobo has a large failure rate on BIOS flashes. When I was doing my research for the upgrade, I never thought to research the actual failure rate on an Asus mobo BIOS flash. *shrug*
I just wanted to say this is the first time I have written to an author but when I read your first three books I was left chomping at the bit for the next one. I’ve been reading Sci Fi and Military History including Turtledove for about 35 years and I find your story lines quite plausable and I really enjoy experiencing the story from all of the different characters perspective view points. I hope you keep writing this style of books and I would enjoy saying to others that I read your books from the start. please let us all know if you will be doing any book tours in the Boston area. It would be a great pleasure to meet such a talented new author.

I have a Gigabyte Crossfire system here at the shop.It has issues as well The only Bios update is a beta 0.0 I read a bunch about it trying to fix it. Seems as tho this board is either good or bad, the ones who got good ones love it and the ones who got bad ones could never seem to fix them. RMA city. I was shicked I tho gigabyte was a good brand I guess they have all slipped.
Catalyst and I both have reason to detest MSI, but maybe it’s time I give them another chance.
I will be voting for the conservative for the forseeable future. My previous issues with “picking the lesser of two evils” will be put aside to send a message that I do not approve of the direction our government excesses are taking us. I do NOT believe in the “redistribution of wealth” by a liberal segment of American society that gives far less to charity than their “evil self serveing” conservative counterparts.

I declare victory (tentatively). The new mobo works beautifully, the chip is crazy fast, and I’m running everything at 1920 X 1080 at all setting maxed. Dragon Age looks even more fantastic than before, and Borderlands looks almost like a different game. I’m pleased.

As a member of the “Geezer” cult, I have lived through the times when the respective parties roles were opposite with respect to who they purported to represent. I have come to the conclusion that they are all a bunch of lying S.O.B’s and are not to be trusted without extreme oversite. In recent history when the Republicans held all the positions of power, Oval Office, House and Senate, they pissed it away and did nothing to better the nation and its people. Lack of clear leadership and focus is the problem in my aged opinion. Even that fumbling, bumbling lackluster performance was much less damaging to us than what we are experiencing under the Dems. I view the uprising in Mass. with the latest Republican win in Kennedy’s vacated seat with a glimmer of hope that we might yet get it right.. Blitzfike

Pete, I didn’t know of the petition or I too would have signed it. I did buy the game, read the reviews before I opened it, returned it and bought Borderlands instead. I still play the older call of duty series and will continue to do so, but they can pound sand before I buy another of their games with the lack of support and restrictions they put in the newer products.. I guess they won’t miss us all that much based on their response to you.. Blitzfike
